Our indomitable Geoff Williams has done it again! Another unique event to look forward to:
“I am arranging a leisure ride on this coming Sunday 1st March, following the Sustran routes 1 and 14 on old railway tracks and minor roads starting from Middlesbrough. It is approx 54miles and we will be leaving Stocksfield station around 8.00am via a minibus and trailer. The pace will be fairly leisurely to take into account the slowest riders and will involve a coffee stop. The route heads through Stockton, heads North up to Haswell, minor roads to Durham, and then follows the Lanchester old railway line, on up to Consett and down the Derwent walk before heading up over Whittonstall and back to Stocksfield. The route is suitable for mountain bikes/hybrids and If any members are interested let me know. The numbers are limited due to the transport so it will be on a first come basis. Hopefully the weather will be as good as last Sunday but I will not guarantee that!”
