TVCC member and ActivCycles team racer Huw Oliver recently competed in the massive Megavalanche downhill event on Alpe D’Huez; more famous, or infamous, as the beast of a climb sometimes featured, as this year, in the Tour de France. After achieving 18th place out of 200 riders in his qualifier, Huw managed a time of 1hr 16min 44sec on this terrifying 32km descent for a creditable place of 195th from 400 riders.

Well done Huw!

Winner was Remy Absalon, ex cross country world champion, in a time of 49mins 28sec.
