  • Starting in historic Blanchland Village
  • A chance to ride in the stunning countryside of the North Pennine Area of Outstanding National Beauty
  • A 12 mile ride for all the family around lovely Derwent Reservoir
  • A 42 mile circuit through the Allendale Valley finishing with a challenging climb from Rookhope back to Hunstanworth and Blanchland
  • The North Pennine Challenge – a seriously challenging 75 mile ride taking in some of the hardest climbs in the North Pennines
  • A perfect ‘training run’ for the Northern Rock Cyclone held the following Saturday
  • Make a weekend of it – watch the Tour of the Reservoir Premier Calendar Race on Sunday 19th June
  • EARLY ENTRY RECOMMENDED AS ENTRIES ARE LIMITED TO 300 RIDERS for the inaugral event

Event 1 Family ride approx 12 miles

Tea/drink and biscuit prior to send off at Blanchland Club

A “clockwise”circuit of the Derwent Reservoir using minor roads and stone tracks

Via Carrick-Sailing Club-Cronkley- off road path -Dam-Pow Hill-Ruffside –Finish

Refreshments at Information Cabin

Start and finish at Blanchland

Buffet

Event 2 Intermediate a more challenging route of approx 42 miles, with a sting in the tail

Tea/drink and biscuit prior to send off

Signposted route-Blanchland – Carrick –Millshield-Barleyhill-Hairy Side-Strothers Dale-Dukesfield, Dye House-Newbiggin-Race Course-Paise Dyke-Stublick-Catton-Allendale-Allenheads-Rookhope-Hunstanworth –Finish

Refreshments en route at Allendale tea rooms, Allenheads cafe,

Buffet at finish

Event 3 The North Pennine Challenge - 75 Seriously Challenging miles

Signposted route (with options to bale out via Intermediate event) Blanchland- Carrick-Millshield- Barley Hill-Hairy Side-Strothers Dale-Dukesfield-Dye House-Newbiggin-Race course-Paise Dyke-Stublick-Catton-Allendale –Dryburn Moor-Carr shield-Nenthead-Alston-Ashgill-Yad Moss-L angdon Beck-St John’s Chapel-Daddry Shield-Brotherlee-Eastgate-Stanhope-Crawleyside-Baybridge-Finish

Refreshments en route at Alston, Nenthead, Allenheads, Rookhope , Parkhead
