About Our Club
Tyne Valley Cycling Club was formed over ten years ago by a group of very experienced cyclists to encourage, promote and develop the sport of cycling in all its forms for the benefit of members of the Club and the community.
The club offers a warm and friendly welcome to all cyclists with an opportunity to enjoy our sport and develop riding skills amongst friendly and knowledgeable cycling enthusiasts.

Joining couldn’t be easier. If we know you and you’ve ridden with us before then come to one of our monthly club meetings, details below. For others, we’d prefer you to ride with us once or twice so we can gauge your ability and you can see whether our club is the right one for you before joining. There’s no joining fee and subs are just £16 pa for adults [young riders' are free] plus insurance – see below.
Insurance
We do, however, require members to join either the CTC (Cycle Touring Club) or BC (British Cycling) in order to provide third party insurance cover for other members and members of the general public. Members can become either club affiliates of the CTC or if they prefer they can become individual members with some reduced discretionary prices available for young riders, OAPs etc. This cover is advisable for all regular cyclists, members or otherwise. See our contacts page for CTC and BC.
Meetings
We meet on the first Thursday of every ‘odd’ numbered month at 7.30pm in the Greenside community centre, on the B6315 near the Tee junction. Coffee, Tea and biscuits are available.
