Go-Ride Junior Bike Race 2010

Kids from 7 to 15 enjoyed themselves in the Go-Ride races taking place on the field near the Derwent Reservoir lodge this year - we’re told there was also another event on nearby at the same time! Ah yes, the 2010 Tour of the Reservoir, that’s it!
So as well as pitting their own skill and speed against each other they were able to watch the elite peleton sweep by at breakneck speed right alongside the field.
Starting with an open mtb time trial around one lap of the field, the event continued with a series of age-related mtb races of 10 to 15 minutes; quite a test of endurance for young legs in the windy and cool conditions.
A prize-giving ceremony followed with the prizes being awarded by Jon Bateman of British Cycling, aided and abetted by Alex McLean, also of BC.
