Tyne Valley Sportives 2012

This year’s North Pennine Sportive takes place on the Saturday 5th May, on the same weekend as our Premier Calendar ‘Tour of the Reservoir’ Road Race on Sunday 6th May.

Saturday’s Sportive covers three distances. Following requests from entrants after last year’s successful ride, Challenge A has been increased in distance to just over 100 miles. This is now a seriously challenging route taking in Hexhamshire, Hexham Race Course, Allendale, Alston, Langdon Beck, St John’s Chapel, Rookhope returning via Allendale. Two feed stations en route.

Entry fee for Challenge A is £25.

Challenge B, Hexhamshire, past Hexham Race Course, Allendale, Rookhope and Stanhope Moor, about 42 miles. One feed station en route.

Entry fee for Challenge B is £15.

Challenge C is an event for family/novices, being a clockwise circuit of the Derwent Reservoir using minor roads and tracks of crushed chippings, about 12 miles. Tea, coffee and light refreshments may be purchased from Northumbria Water Lodge.

Entry fee for Challenge C is £5.

Ride HQ is Blanchland Sports Club.

After all rides a FREE buffet will be provided at the Sport Club.

The rides take place in the beautiful North Pennines – see link below for more details.
